Exits you planned while you were still polite

AI Trader with Take Profit

A target is how you avoid becoming a narrator. It is not how you avoid needing a stop.

Context, not a slogan

Take-profit is the optimistic twin of a stop. People skip it because they want to “let winners run,” then they watch winners jog back. Other people set it one tick away and call themselves disciplined while they donate to fees. OpenFidex can host a target field. It cannot host your therapy.

The AI should not move a target further because a headline got exciting. Excitement is how targets die. If you want to change it, you change it, as a new decision, while looking at the new payload.

A practical sequence

Use this as a checklist. None of it is a trading recommendation.

1

Write the target when you write the stop

Same sitting. Different number. Both on the ticket if the venue allows.

2

Use a reason, not a round number

If the only reason is a pretty price, admit you are decorating.

3

Partial exits are allowed to be boring

If the product supports reduces, a partial is a decision, not a failure of nerve.

4

Do not delete a target to feel brave

Bravery is a size you picked earlier. It is not a field you empty later.

Controls that matter for this style

Optional, unlike honesty

You can run without a target. You cannot run without knowing that you chose that.

Gaps work both ways

You can also overshoot a target. Do not write a lawsuit in your head. Read the venue.

Copy-trading ruins targets

Their runner is not your runner. See the copy URL.

AI should not shame you for taking it

If a card ever implies you left money on the table as a moral failing, that card is broken.

Questions this page actually answers

Is a take-profit guaranteed?

No more than a stop. Mechanisms fail. Size like they can.

Should I always use one?

If you cannot describe an alternative exit rule, use one. If you can, write that rule down too.

Can AI pick the target?

It can suggest a level as a headline. You still type and sign. Suggestions are not orders.

Why a whole page for a field?

Because people search it, and because stuffing it into the stop page would make both essays worse and more duplicate.

Does OpenFidex hold my funds or place trades for me?

No. OpenFidex is a non-custodial software interface. A wallet is created in your browser, you keep the keys, and you cryptographically sign every order before it reaches a third-party venue such as Hyperliquid. The software does not take custody of assets and does not submit transactions unless you sign them.
